Jesus is the King of Israel.
He came to save his people from their sins.
Who are his people? Israelites?
Israelites wrote the various books of the Bible.
Of the twelve apostles, only Paul was sent to the Gentiles.
Paul told Gentiles how to become Israelites.
Gentiles took Paul's works and assembled the Bible.
Then they created the Gentile Church, ... and scorned the name of Israel.
This plaque is on the wall above the entry to the rest of my house from my wife's kitchen.
Here is the story: Joshua 24, from the Complete Jewish Bible (CEB).
Joshua had led the Israelites in their conquest of the land ADONAI had given to them, and Chapter 24 is a record of Joshua's summary about what had happened and his instructions to them before he died.
Bible Gateway offers many different translations of the Bible. I have used the CEB here because I am trying to emphasize the roots of Christianity.
Christianity is about Israel. People have lost sight of that fact.
An enemy has done this.
If the CEB is too difficult, don't let that be a stumbling block. Pick a different translation. There are many.
Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared.
“The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’
“‘An enemy did this,’ he replied.
“The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’
“‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’” (Matthew 13:24-30 NIV)
We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. However, as it is written:
“What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him— these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, for,
“Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?”

Midland is a very comfortable town. The local country club holds a golf tournament each summer and I took this photo in June. My brother was able to watch it on television from his home elsewhere.
My house was built around 1946, and the original owner was apparently a keen gardener. The soil in the flower beds around the house is still rich and good for gardening.
I am not a gardener. My wife liked flowers and because I loved her I spent a lot of effort taking care of the landscape for her. Since she died, my motivation for doing that is almost non-existent. Each summer, I make sure to keep things under control but my mind and heart are elsewhere.
Back in 2016, I realized our perennial gardens were not producing "good fruit" with all of that good soil, so I planted some vegetables in open spaces.
I got quite a crop, and shared the bounty with my neighbors. God used that activity to stretch me and help me get to know people living around me.
I tried doing it again the following year, but either the seeds weren't good anymore or the soil was depleted. (I tried to use the seeds from before, but I think they were two seasons old.) I did not try again and the perennials took over, as they were supposed to.
So, ten years later, my gardens are not producing anything of value and the beds are full of weeds. The neighbors admire my landscape because it looks good from a distance--green with splotches of color, but up close it is a tangled mess.
I see this as a metaphor in my life. I desperately want to "produce good fruit; fruit that will last," but I cannot do it here. This is my hometown.
Midland and Michigan look good on the surface, but they are spiritually dead, in my view. Nothing grows here. The "weeds" have taken over. "Sowing" anything is fruitless. It is heartbreaking.
This is why I know I must go someplace else. It is deep in my heart and I long to be where ADONAIwants me to be.
And He will make it happen.

An Indophile friend gave me this soap a while back and I just noticed this synchronicity.
The feminine principal is receptive but not passive; it's choosing but not pursuing; it's magnetic but not aggressive. It's like the earth that chooses which seeds it will allow to germinate in its soil. The earth doesn't chase after seeds begging to be fertilized. It simply offers or denies its conditions for life to sprout, and when it offers its ideal conditions the seeds naturally turn toward it, surrender to it, find in it the perfect home to flourish. The masculine principal on the other hand is directed, focused, penetrating. It's like the sun that offers its light constantly without pursuing; without begging to be accepted. It simply shines with its authentic truth and allows the earth to choose whether it wants to receive that light, or not. And when the earth opens to receive, when it offers fertile soil, the sun naturally pours over it with all its intensity.
When these principals operate in harmony, when each is in its natural energetic role, attraction happens organically, effortlessly, without resistance, but when roles are reversed, when the feminine tries to be the pursuing sun and the masculine tries to be the resisting earth, the dynamic becomes forced, unbalanced, usually doomed to failure or co-dependency.
...modern society ... has ... taught that women should chase men, that they should be active, aggressive, that they should conquer; and it taught men to be more passive, more receptive, less directed. This polarity inversion has created entire generations of people who no longer know how to relate in an energetically-balanced way. And when it comes to twin flames, this polarity confusion becomes even more destructive because twin flames are connections that operate at much higher and more subtle frequencies than common relationships. Any energetic imbalance in this dynamic creates resistances that can last years, decades, sometimes entire lifetimes.
Jung observed in his therapy sessions that ... the soul that carries more feminine energy in the dynamic is always the one that defines whether union will happen, or not. (From the video, below.)
The feminine has to decide to change, but how does she do that?
I am certain the Creator of the universe brought my twin flame into the coffee shop and that she recognized me, but not consciously. She chose and I aligned. We were allowed to sample each other and experience the promise, but it was only that, a promise.
I have been taken through so much over the past year. I have grown and matured, and the common denominator has been her. Every day; every night; every awakening. It's always her, and what God ultimately plans to do with us.
He has given me so much guidance and revelation about this and I have realized I am sinning when I doubt. I have no excuse because I know His Voice, and He does not lie or mislead. He does not tease. I have asked Him to take it away if my interpretations are not His intentions; my thoughts about her have simply intensified.
I had a deep and loving relationship with my wife that grew over time.1 Through my grief over losing her I have learned how to rely on myself and to walk with my Creator. He is my Master and He guides me through my life.
I fully comprehend and expect God is working on my twin flame, too. She is much younger than me and I realize the strategic importance of that fact. I trust my Yehoshua and know He is showing me His heart so He can include me in the courting of the Love of His life, the Spiritual Children of Israel.
I am impatient, of course. It has been 1733 days since I last made love with a woman; 1731 since I embraced her. I crave relationship, ...intensely. My twin flame is the only option my Creator has brought before me. There is no other. There will be no other. I am certain of it.
But I will wait patiently. She is at a crucial point in her life, the same age I was when my spiritual growth and revelations took off. She must be independent and sovereign, confident she can navigate through the rest of her life on her own with only the help of her Maker. When she is at the right point, the LORD will bring us together. Not a moment before. Then we will be massively more than the sum of our parts.
Our situation is unique, just like every twin-flame relationship, but the principles of these videos apply and we can both learn from them. Here is the one that was put in front of me today...
I am working on reconciling what I know with these "Twin Flame" ideas. Perhaps this is part of the work I must do before union can take place?

I've been meditating and thinking about the above article concerning characteristics. The last paragraph linking an Embracer with the feminine pole was what caught my attention overnight.
When we talk about these twin flame characteristics, gender plays no role in the equation. Divine energies are not related to gender at all. Sure, it can happen that a female twin flame plays a Divine Feminine role in the connection at one point or overall. Or the male twin flame could play a Divine Masculine role. But it can also be the other way around.
And anyone, regardless of their gender or how they identify, has both Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine energies in their soul and energetic body.
The roles are not about gender, and they’re not fixed. Energy is the essence of life, and it’s always fluid. Twin flame energy always changes, adapts, and grows. The same twin can play alternating roles during the same human experience or as part of various lifetimes.
The roles influence how the two souls interact and harmonize in order to achieve divine union. It’s all about how they help each other to achieve the merging stage. (Emphasis added.)
I am also okay with the adjective "divine" because we are God's creation and we are made in his image. When I say, "God," I am referring to the God of the Bible.
I remain skeptical about various lifetimes because I do not see that concept in the Bible. I believe we all get a single shot at this.2
One of the things that concerns me about Hinduism is the belief in multiple lifetimes and reincarnation.
The practice of Sati encourages women to kill themselves.
The thread in the Aaj Ki Raat (From "Don") music video where the man is poisoned and then drinks more poison to kill himself seems to stem from his presumed belief that he will reincarnate after he dies.
I believe that prevarication leads many people to tragically give up their own lives, which is just what the Darkness wants.
Now, the main reason I am making this update is, as of this morning, I believe I am currently the "feminine pole" of our dynamic and you are the "masculine pole." Reading through the characteristics of each and the characteristics of both the chaser and runner, I don't think our respective poles line up with our physical genders. And, according to the article, that's okay!
You came after me, and then you ran. I am older and have had more time and experiences to come to grips with spiritual matters. And the "Bike" story I wrote and have published on the private blog I made for you alone fits this polarity arrangement and continues to make me smile. (You'll really like it!)
This all lines up with my identification with the "Embracer" characteristics.
I hope you are transitioning into a "Postponer." Perhaps this is why you have been led to spend time in India with people who comprehend Hindu ideas, which are going to be more in line with Twin Flame phenomena than the ideas of people here in Central Michigan.
Yesterday, I was led to visit the church I left twenty years ago. Not much had changed. It was a big box containing people with ideas consistent with certain teachings, some of them true and some of them missing important components. I yearned for you the whole time I was there.

15:40 How do you make this transition from pursuit to sovereignty? How do you stop chasing without becoming cold or indifferent? How do you choose yourself without closing your heart to the connection? These are practical questions that Jung addressed through specific inner work techniques.
The first step is developing what Jung called "the self-observation function," the ability to observe your own emotional and behavioral patterns without judgement. You need to start noticing when you're operating from lack versus when you're operating from abundance. Lack manifests as urgency, as need for immediate response, as tendency to interpret silence as rejection. Abundance manifests as natural patience, as ability to give space, as confidence that what's true always finds a way to manifest.
The second step is learning to distinguish between love and attachment. Love is an expansive force that wants the best for the other regardless of how it affects you. Attachment is a possessive force that wants the other in a specific way to satisfy your needs. When you truly love, you can desire for the person to be happy, even if it's not with you. When you're attached, you can only imagine their happiness if it includes you.
The third step is developing a consistent practice of internal fulfillment. This means creating sources of joy, fulfillment and love that don't depend on any specific person. It can be art, nature, spirituality, meaningful work, deep friendships, any activity that connects you with your own essence and makes you feel alive through yourself.
The fourth step is learning to establish healthy energetic boundaries. This means stopping molding yourself to please, stopping suppressing your truth to avoid conflicts, stopping making yourself emotionally available to those who don't demonstrate consistent reciprocity, not out of revenge or manipulation but from basic self-respect.
And the fifth step, perhaps most important, is cultivating an intimate and loving relationship with your own company, learning to enjoy yourself alone, comfort yourself in difficult moments, celebrate yourself in victories, forgive yourself in mistakes. When you become your own best friend and dearest company, you stop desperately seeking these functions in other people.
Jung understood this process doesn't happen overnight. It's a journey of months, or even years, depending on how deep the co-dependency patterns you've developed throughout life are. But each small step in this direction changes your energetic frequency perceptibly, not just for you but for all people around you. And here's where the real magic happens when you finally establish yourself in this inner sovereignty, when you stop chasing your Twin Flame and start living your own life fully, two things can happen.
The first is they may awaken to what they lost and start chasing you with the same intensity you used to chase them.
The second is you may discover you no longer need them to feel complete, and this discovery opens space for even more evolved and mature connections.
In both cases, you win. Either you reclaim your Twin Flame from a position of power and wholeness, creating solid foundation for truly conscious relationship, or you discover you're capable of attracting and sustaining connections even more aligned with who you've become through this growth process.
But regardless of external outcome, the real prize is always internal. You reclaim your own soul. You stop living on the periphery of another person's life and become protagonist of your own story again. You stop begging for "love crumbs" and become inexhaustible source of love for yourself and the world. Jung said that the final goal of human existence isn't finding our other half, but becoming whole through ourselves.
Twin Flames, according to this perspective, don't come to complete us, but to awaken us to our own wholeness. Mutual recognition serves as mirror where each soul can see itself reflected in its totality, but the work of becoming that totality is always individual and non-transferrable. When the divine feminine finally gets tired and decides to stop chasing, it's not giving up on love. It's finally choosing true love, starting with itself. It's deciding it deserves to be chosen by someone who recognizes it naturally, not by someone who needs to be convinced of its worth. It's opting to be magnetic through its own light, not needy through its own lack, and this choice, even when made in silence within one's own heart has power to transform not just your personal life, but the energetic dynamic of all people around you, because when a person truly establishes themselves in their inner sovereignty, they become living inspiration that it's possible to love without losing yourself, connect without abandoning yourself, desire without becoming desperate. I believe this has all been going on with me, especially the highlighted parts.
Yes, I am the feminine pole of the dynamic. What does that mean for our relationship and how do I adjust what I am doing?
I experience reality in layers. There is the layer of physical gender; the layer of biblical principles; the layer of energetic dynamics. It's all beginning to make some sense.

The name of God's people is Israel. He disciplines his people, and many are unfaithful. But God is always faithful.
Satan is a liar. He sets up counterfeits.
Many people desire to do what is right and follow God. They want to believe in Jesus and belong to him. But many have fallen for counterfeits.
Every Gentile church is a counterfeit. Each one looks right, but there is something wrong in every single one of them. That is because they are not Israel.
The name of Israel has God's blessing, and those who are a part of it receive the nourishing sap. The words and ideas in the Bible are products of that sap, so they are holy. They have power and authority.
Gentile teachings are not products of the nourishing sap. They contain lies and half-truths. They are spiritual dead ends.
What attracts flies? Death?
Gentile churches and their various manifestations are under constant harassment from the spiritual forces of evil. They are infiltrated, deceived, and worn down. It's like a swarm of flies.
Those who are in Israel are alive. They do not attract flies.
The flies don't even notice they are there.

Yehoshua confronted the scribes and Pharisees, the "religious professionals" of the time, because they were misleading the people. We must do the same today.
I have learned to spot certain tells as I evaluate whether specific voices are worth listening to. Here are a couple of them:
Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”
He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority..." (Acts 1:6-7 NIV)
Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should. (Ephesians 6:19-20 NIV)
These statements are almost always skipped and ignored. Similar to the seeds sown on the hardened path, these are seeds not even cast. This should make us question the "sower," and whether they can be trusted about anything they say.
My INTJ personality has learned to be very efficient at evaluating these things. Impersonal analysis may be foreign to some people, but someone has to do it or people will be led astray. This is a big part of my job.
People should simply read the Bible. Derivative works such as commentaries and workbooks can be helpful, but we must remember that they are works of men, and they can mislead us.
Also, I have observed many people hang on the words of certain pastors, theologians, and famous teachers. My question is, are we following them or are we following Yehoshua?
Exactly 38 years ago this morning, my wife and I lost our twins.
Our little girl came first. Our son followed.
More recently, My Twin Flame initiated our meeting. I followed.
My experience long ago seems prophetic. Synchronistic. Confirming.
Anna has been giving more instructions to "earth angels." She says many are in my age group, and that they come in Twin pairs.

They also described the development of people carrying special abilities and missions, one of which was a special group of "bridge souls" called to aid the Earth in its transition from the energies of one Age to another Age.

I believe many Christians see themselves as separated from the Jews. Some believe God abandoned the Jews because they killed Jesus. But are those notions true?
I don't think they are, and am convinced that kind of thinking is grave error. You can consider my reasoning by reading my posts about Paul's Mystery.
The Apostle Paul wrote a letter, "to all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be his holy people" (Romans 1:7 NIV, in part). He told non-Jews how they could become part of Israel through Jesus, and he used an olive tree as a metaphor...
...if the root [of the olive tree] is holy, so are the branches.
If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you. You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.” Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but tremble. For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.
Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off. And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree! Isaiah used the olive tree metaphor when he talked about the coming Messiah...
A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.
In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his resting place will be glorious. (Isaiah 11:1 and 11:10 NIV)
Jesse was King David's father. David was the second King of Israel. When Israel sinned and adopted the practices of the peoples of the land, God sent them into exile. He cut back "the olive tree" to a stump. Jesus is the Branch that Isaiah said would come from the "stump of Jesse."
I believe we must be grafted into Israel if we are to be part of the Kingdom of Israel. The "root" supports us. If we are not part of the "Israel tree," we will not receive the nourishment we need, and we will eventually die spiritually.
Dead stumps and branches can look alive...for a while. I cut down and dug up this buckthorn plant from my property, and I set it out by the street for the city to haul away. It sprouted leaves while it sat by the curb, completely uprooted. It appeared to be alive even though it was dead.
Twenty years ago, I was at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Washington, D.C., right after I read the book about Paul's Mystery. While standing there, I left1 my US citizenship (in my heart) and became a citizen of spiritual Israel. (I am not talking about the secular State of Israel.) It was the hardest thing I had ever done, and it changed me. I had to live someplace, so I retained my US passport and other credentials, but in my heart I was an Israelite. Still am.
A citizen is actually someone who is obliged to serve the government.
Most Americans have been tricked into identifying as a US Citizen and/or citizen of the US.
Those people actually have no rights under the Constitutions (plural).
They are a subject of the British Monarch and/or a slave of the Roman Catholic Pope.
This all happened after the American Civil War, which was not actually a declared war, but was instead a mercenary conflict between two government services corporations. Most Americans should be considered sovereign state nationals, but the government presumes they are citizens in order to secretly mistreat them. Apparently, being a "citizen" has lots of disadvantages in the current situation. I alluded to the effective "slavery" in my Larvae and Placebos posts.
I now feel pretty good about my decision at the Tomb, and realize the Holy Spirit led me to do something I knew nothing about twenty years before it became known to me. I believe that action spiritually set me free from some things, and it grafted me into some authority most people do not experience.
I am telling you this because I love you and want you to experience the amazing things and freedom I seem to have... by the grace of God. I believe I am grafted into the stump of Jesse and I am receiving the πιότητος (piotētos, meaning "fatness" or nourishment) from that tree. Many people I encounter have faith and knowledge of Jesus, and some have discovered they have access to incredible spiritual power as they heal the sick and cast out demons, but the Darkness persistently seems to prevent them from understanding the things I try to proclaim about Paul's Mystery. Do people not understand this because they are not grafted into the Israel Olive Tree?
Please take these ideas into your prayer closet and ask God what He thinks about them, and what He wants you to do. I believe it is critically important.

I am clarifying these things because I believe God intends for me to serve in the Michigan Assembly as a State Citizen, which does not allow dual citizenship. At the same time, I still believe in and identify with Spiritual Israel, of which Jesus is the King. He is the King of kings.
See my discussion in the September 3, 2022 update of the Authority post about what appears to be "Israel" today in the part of the world called Palestine. There is no land/soil jurisdiction of Jesus' Israel right now, and most adherents of Judaism would probably agree with that.
I presume Jews are welcome to serve in the Michigan Assembly along with Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Mormons, Scientologists, Pagans, Atheists, etc.

I began my full-time career as a chemical engineer at the beginning of July, 1980. In the seventeenth month of that career, the girl who would become my bride came to work in the same building as me. She was 29. The building number was 309.
The 1982 "Best Picture" was Chariots of Fire1, and it was released in the USA on 4/9/82. I saw it in a theater, but not with the girl from the office. We did not have our first encounter until about two months later, when we shared our first kiss. We were married exactly seventeen months after the movie release date, on 9/9/83.2
I realized this when I recently re-watched the movie and found myself particularly enamored with the woman who played the sister of Eric Liddell, Cheryl Campbell. Then it hit me. She looks a lot like my wife, especially in the screenshot, above. My wife's bridal dress included a wide-brimmed hat, similar to the one in the picture. It's not exactly the same, but factoring in facial features, hair and eye color, that picture reminds me of my wife. When the Holy Spirit prompted me to calculate the dates, I was astonished. Another one of God's fingerprints on our lives!
I tried to share this with her, but I don't think she saw it. It's one of my regrets. I was being patient, but "the clock ran out." It's just between her and me.
Some people dabble in the Occult, and they have their reasons. I don't do that, but I am aware of some things that are important to them. One of those is certain numbers, and many of them come from the Bible.3
I believe God uses numbers to communicate. He chose to establish seven days as a week, and He chose to begin the Flood on the seventeenth day...
In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month--on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights. (Genesis 7:11-12 NIV)
The Flood was also over on the seventeenth day...
The water receded steadily from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the water had gone down, and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. (Genesis 8:3-4 NIV)
Notice that the Flood lasted exactly five months. Five means something, too.
The seventeenth letter of the English alphabet has been rather controversial in the past few years. I discussed it in Critical Thinking.
My wife put this printout on our refrigerator about a month before I discovered the "seventeenth letter." I find that fascinating, and am comforted that we always saw things together. We both saw some strange things during our marriage, and the fact that we both saw them confirmed we were not crazy.
That's what I'm really going to miss, now that she's gone. We would see things, talk about things and share things. We shared a common workplace in the beginning, and we shared many experiences afterwards.
I understand everybody goes through losses like this, and I understand we all die, but it's really, really hard when you go through it yourself. And... it's lonely.
Once again, I can be more empathetic towards others because I am actually going through it myself. God knows what He's doing. He disciplines those He loves and has called according to His purposes.
I am still heartbroken. So, so heartbroken...

UPDATES, March 15, 2022...
1 It is unclear to me how "chariots of fire" (2 Kings 6:17) relates to the content of this movie. I do see a clear connection to what is going on around me, however. I am convinced "those who are with me are more than those who are with them," and the apparent connection between my marriage and this movie does seem to make some sense in hindsight.

Pay close attention to the numbers and dates in this entire blog and observe how each of them "reduce." Simply add the digits and then add those digits until you can reduce no more. The richness is astounding. Personally, I think God is mocking the Darkness, and I am overjoyed to be a part of it!

Last evening, I re-watched the end of Chariots of Fire. Today, I was a bit bewildered about where things are heading and asked the LORD for help. Soon afterwards, I watched Wings on Their Heels: The Making of Chariots of Fire, and heard this near the end...
"It's Christianity and Judaism getting together, and getting on together."
4 My spiritual sibling asked me yesterday why so many people are drawn to negative or dark symbolism and why people think following symbols of any kind is so important. I had mentioned symbolism in a conversation earlier in the day. I said it was an intriguing question and that I needed to pray about it.
I did pray about it, and after breakfast this morning I read my next chapter of Brent Allan Winters' Excellence of the Common Law book, which I have been reading and have mentioned elsewhere in this blog (here and here). It was section 4.5.1, Rule of Law in the Ancient World, pages 513-515. It answered my prayer and my question, and I plan to share it with my sibling later today. I quote part of it here...
In ancient civil law--as yet today--men believed that power over others proceeded from certain created objects: e.g., certain mountaintops, cities, thrones, seats, staffs, crowns, or jewels. Such belief is the essence of idolatry. They further believed that the one gaining control of such an object or place--whether by manipulation or raw force, or both-- also gained control of the power attaching to it. For example, men attributed such aura to certain chairs placed in certain places. ... To speak while seated in these special places was to legislate, whether by general decree or by specific judgment. Further, objects such as a certain crown sitting on one's head or a certain scepter in one's hand, men believed to lend power to the one possessing it.
One's belief that getting hold of, or control over, a certain person, place, or thing brings with it the power of legislation--such as bones of holy men, grails, artifacts, and shrouds--is sometimes called occultism. Humanity's unquenchable quest for objects and trinkets believed to bring spiritual or political advantage is the gist of idol worship.
It's idol worship. That's why it is sin.
Isn't it amazing how my prayer was answered? As Paul said, ...
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28 NIV)
What happened to him? What was the narrative? Who was he with? What was his religious heritage? Why would he want to make a movie about Christians and Jews getting along? Who might not like that?
I might "get stoned" for saying this, but folks, we need to talk! It's time to put childish ways behind us.
Many people quote this passage, particularly in the United States of America...
"if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV)
There are many, many places where this passage is quoted, and that's understandable. It is a very encouraging statement, and it comforts many. It is also a very challenging statement, and is often used in sermons and speeches, always with good intentions.
But, we must be careful because this passage is usually taken out of context.
What is the context of this passage? Have you read it recently, in context? I challenge you to do so, but before you do, I have some questions for you to ponder as you read it. Actually, I have one primary question, and then several followup questions.
The primary question is this: Who are "My people"?
How we answer that question reveals much about our understanding and what we have been taught. I am sure many people believe it refers to Christians, and some people believe it refers to the people of the United States, as can be inferred from the picture, above. But is that really what the text actually says?
The followup questions are ones I challenge you to formulate and ask yourself. Consider some of the things I have discussed in previous posts, particularly Paul's Mystery and Critical Thinking. See if your ideas about the passage change.
And please, put down that stone. Thanks.

UPDATE, August 21, 2022...
"My People" are Israelites. That has always been the case and is still true today, but the Darkness does not want you to know it because identifying with Israel will give you authority over them!
I believe that moment at the Tomb was when I was grafted into the Israel "tree," and started receiving the "nourishing sap."
So, what does this mean?
I believe it means those who have not identified with spiritual Israel are not "My People," meaning they are not God-The-Creator's People and Yehoshua is not their King. I believe this is what Marvin Byers was in anguish about as he wrote Paul's Mystery, and it is a big part of what motivates me to do what I do, including saying things on this blog.
It grieves me and horrifies me to see people I love and care about be deceived by Gentile Teachings, and nothing I say seems to get through that narcissistic armor.
Many people read and preach from the Bible about the passages stating how God loves us and cares for us, but those authors were writing to spiritual Israelites...
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written:
“For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:35-39 NIV)
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. (1 John 4:7-12 NIV)
These things were written to spiritual Israelites, "My People," ... not Gentiles. Paul was telling receptive Gentile individuals how to join Yehoshua, the King of Israel. John was reassuring fellow Yehoshua-believing Israelites.
Please take these things into your prayer closet and discuss them with your God.
I have the right to love whoever I want, although they are not obligated to love me in return. I wish they would, however, and hope they eventually will.
As I have reflected on that post, The LORD has revealed to me He is letting me get a taste of his feelings for "His People." He has the right to fall in love with whoever He wants, as well, and He has fallen in love with the children of Abraham.
The Book says "His People" will eventually recognize their Beloved and run to Him. I hope that happens to me.

obstinate, adjective, 1: stubbornly adhering to an opinion, purpose, or course in spite of reason, arguments, or persuasion.
The one I love came to Midland to learn how to operate a free coffee shop, and she was driven by a vision she had shortly after she returned from an extensive overseas experience where she encountered people who loved her and led her through a time of brokenness. During that time, she said she was baptized. These things fascinated me when I first met her, and I felt a kinship. So much was lining up with my experiences and views, and this is why I initially pursued knowing more about her.
Eventually, it became apparent she had a particular purpose in mind from the vision, and her plan was to return to where she had been before her overseas epiphany. My heart sank because I had really grown to like her, as did everyone else, but she was determined and shouted from the rooftops what she intended to do. Most people seemed to view her as highly spiritual and were impressed with her story of her vision. I was, too, and wanted to know more.
As I started to ask questions the answers were vague and she soon started pushing me away. I backed off and just observed. Eventually, we had some disagreements and misunderstandings that demonstrated she and I were "not on the same page." As I learned about our personality types, things started to make sense. Although I was learning from her, she did not seem to be learning from me. I think she realized I was seeing through her facade and that is why she pushed me away. Her arguments were irrational and biblically incoherent, which I learned is typical of her personality type. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. My spiritual sibling also independently saw through her and emotionally told her she was making "a huge mistake." It seems The LORD was giving her testimony from two witnesses.
Late in her tenure at Midland, she fleshed out the details of her plans for moving back to where she had been, and doors kept closing. She saw this, but refused to believe she might be wrong, and she became even more hostile towards me. I was only trying to help and simply wanted to know more, but she irrationally seemed to blame me for her troubles. Again, I learned this is typical of an INFP.
It has been a year since she left, and things have not panned out as she expected, but she is persevering. The place where she intended to set up her "free coffee" business is a small tourist town saturated with casual eating establishments. Unable to find a "brick and mortar" location for her business, she has "gone mobile," and acquired equipment to set up on a day-to-day basis. Where she is getting the money to do these things is beyond me, but apparently people are helping her. She is so sweet and she is so determined, but it has become apparent to me she is doing this all "in her own strength."
From the beginning, she seems to have considered the vision she had to be a prophecy and she has faithfully acted upon it, but as things have not worked out most people seem to have realized her conclusions were presumptuous. That is why I wanted to know more about the vision. I wanted to test the prophecy. As I said in that other post...
We should be concerned that our prayers are answered, especially our public ones, because if they are not, what does that say about us? And what about the people we follow? Does God answer their prayers and bring about what they prophesy and proclaim? If not, what does that say about them?
...when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him. (Deuteronomy 18:22 NIV)
The prophet who prophesies peace will be recognized as one truly sent by the Lord only if his prediction comes true. (Jeremiah 28:9 NIV)
The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. (James 5:16, in part, NIV)
I do not know what my friend saw in her vision. She said it was too complicated to explain, and I believe that. I am certain she had it, and I told her so. My concern all along has been her interpretation of it. She believed it was guiding her to start a coffee shop in that particular tourist town, which is located about halfway between where each of her parents live, more than a day's journey by car. She fell in love with the place when she was living her previous, sinful life.
The LORD used her isolation overseas to break her out of what bound her, and this has been my biggest concern. She has returned to the location of her sin, and I am afraid it is too early for her to do that. My stronghold was Darwin's Theory of Evolution, and I needed time away from that subject before I was ready to advocate against it. But this is The LORD's project, not mine. He is able to protect her and give her the lessons He wants her to have.
I continue to ask my Master why he is leading me to focus on this woman. I understand my history during high school was to obsess over a particular girl and that led to bondage, but I do not think that is what is going on here. The LORD is using this to teach me things, and I believe he is using me to influence others, so I do not believe it is unhealthy. It is also helping me overcome my broken heart from losing my wife, and it is a season. I care deeply about my friend, but I can let her go if The LORD no longer wants me to pursue it. That is something I understand my personality type is able to do, but we also put tremendous energy and time into pursuing those we believe to be worthwhile.
I desire a relationship with my friend, and I am jealous for her attention. (There is a difference between jealousy and envy.) I hope she eventually sees what I have written here. I have written this blog to whoever will be my eventual wife, should God grace me with the opportunity. I want them to understand me, where I have come from, and where I am going. Is it going to be her?1 I do not know.

It's interesting how God's Tapestry intertwines with itself.
Back in 2001, not long after I had left my engineering job, I was in my family room with this man discussing how we might make a music video of one of his Christmas songs. The project did not go anywhere because I was an absolute neophyte at that kind of thing, but it was a spark motivating me in the direction God was taken me.
We both have proceeded with our walks, doing as we have been led.
He has a new song out, a Christmas song again, and I really like it. It is directed at Israel...

A few days ago, I learned why my spiritual sibling and I could see what our mutual friend could not. She is INFJ and I am INTJ. We both have "introverted intuition," and the video explains these things...
Interestingly, our mutual friend has "extroverted intuition" (INFP).
